Terms & Conditions

Terms of service for using this website and booking therapy sessions

Last updated: 18 December 2025

Welcome

By using this website or booking therapy services with Annabel Kicks Therapy, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. About These Terms

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Annabel Kicks Therapy website (kickstherapy.com) and the provision of counselling and therapeutic services.

By booking a session or using this website, you confirm that you accept these terms and agree to comply with them.

2. Therapy Services

Scope of Services

Annabel Kicks Therapy provides humanistic counselling services, including:

  • Individual therapy (in-person and online)
  • Trauma and pattern-breaking support
  • Walking therapy (outdoor sessions)

Services are provided in accordance with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Ethical Framework.

Not a Replacement for Emergency Care

Therapy is not a substitute for emergency medical or psychiatric care. If you are in crisis or experiencing thoughts of self-harm, please contact:

  • Your GP or call 999
  • Samaritans: 116 123 (24/7)
  • NHS Crisis Line: 111

3. Booking and Attendance

Booking Process

To book a session, you must:

  • Complete an initial enquiry via the contact form or email
  • Attend a free 15-minute introductory call (optional but recommended)
  • Agree to these Terms and Conditions
  • Provide accurate contact and payment information

Attendance and Punctuality

Sessions are 50 minutes long. Please arrive on time (or log in on time for online sessions). Late arrivals will not result in extended session time, as this may impact other clients.

4. Fees and Payment

Session Fees

Current fees are:

  • Standard Rate: £80 per 50-minute session
  • 5-Session Block: £375 (save £25)
  • 10-Session Block: £750 (save £50)

Concession rates are available for students and trainee counsellors—please enquire.

Payment Terms

Payment is required in advance of each session or block booking. Accepted payment methods include bank transfer or other agreed arrangements.

Fee Increases

Fees may be reviewed annually. You will be given at least 4 weeks' notice of any fee changes.

5. Cancellations and Missed Sessions

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please provide at least 48 hours' notice. This allows me to offer the slot to another client.

  • More than 48 hours' notice: No charge; session can be rescheduled
  • Less than 48 hours' notice or missed session: Full session fee applies

Exceptions may be made in genuine emergencies (e.g., sudden illness)—please contact me as soon as possible.

My Cancellations

If I need to cancel a session (due to illness or unforeseen circumstances), I will provide as much notice as possible and offer to reschedule at no extra charge.

6. Confidentiality

Everything you share in therapy is confidential, in line with BACP ethical guidelines and UK GDPR law. Please see the Privacy Policy for full details.

Confidentiality may only be broken in rare circumstances where there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others, or where required by law. I will always discuss this with you first, wherever possible.

7. Online Sessions (Google Meet)

Online therapy sessions are conducted via Google Meet (or another agreed platform). By attending online sessions, you agree to:

  • Ensure a private, quiet space for the session
  • Use a stable internet connection
  • Use a device with audio and video capability
  • Not record sessions without prior written consent

I cannot guarantee the security of third-party platforms, but I use industry-standard security settings to protect your privacy.

8. Ending Therapy

You are free to end therapy at any time, for any reason. I recommend we have a final session to reflect on your progress and discuss next steps, but this is not mandatory.

I may also suggest ending therapy if I feel it is no longer beneficial or appropriate for you, or if I cannot meet your needs. In such cases, I will discuss this with you and, where appropriate, provide referrals to other services.

9. Complaints

If you have any concerns about my services, please speak to me directly in the first instance. I am committed to resolving issues professionally and ethically.

If you are not satisfied with the resolution, you have the right to lodge a formal complaint with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) at www.bacp.co.uk

10. Limitation of Liability

While I provide professional counselling services in accordance with BACP standards, I cannot guarantee specific outcomes or results from therapy. Therapy is a collaborative process, and progress depends on many factors.

I am not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special damages arising from the use of this website or participation in therapy services.

11. Website Use

This website is provided for informational purposes and to facilitate booking of therapy services.

I may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Continued use of this website or services after changes have been made constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
