Trauma & PTSD Therapy

Breaking cycles,
reclaiming your life

Support for trauma, PTSD, and breaking free from the "broken-record loop" of repeating patterns rooted in past experiences.

Calm therapeutic space for trauma healing

What is the "Broken-Record Loop"?

Many clients come to therapy feeling stuck in a "broken-record loop" — repeating patterns of thought, behaviour, or belief rooted in past trauma or anxiety.

These patterns can manifest as:

  • Intrusive thoughts or flashbacks that won't stop
  • Repeating the same relationship patterns
  • Feeling stuck in negative self-beliefs
  • Chronic hypervigilance or difficulty relaxing
  • Self-sabotaging behaviours that feel beyond your control

Breaking free from these loops takes time, patience, and a compassionate therapeutic relationship.

My Approach to Trauma Work

This work is hard and slow, but deeply rewarding. We work compassionately and at your pace.

Working at Your Pace

Trauma work cannot be rushed. I prioritize safety and trust, allowing you to explore painful experiences only when you feel ready. We build a strong therapeutic relationship first, creating a secure base from which to do the deeper work.

Breaking the Loop

We work to identify the patterns keeping you stuck and gently interrupt them. This involves increasing awareness of triggers, understanding the origins of beliefs and behaviours, and developing new, healthier responses. The goal is to move from the past into the present.

Reclaiming Your Agency

The goal is not to erase the past, but to create productive emotional change and help you reclaim your agency. You learn to respond rather than react, to choose rather than be driven by old patterns. You reconnect with your authentic self and develop a healthier relationship with yourself and others.

What to Expect

A Safe, Non-Judgemental Space

You will never be rushed or pressured. I provide an empathic, compassionate environment where you can explore your experiences at your own pace.

Longer-Term Work

Trauma therapy typically requires longer-term commitment. While some clients see progress in months, others need a year or more. We work collaboratively to find the right pace for you.

Challenging but Rewarding

This work is not easy. There will be difficult sessions. But with patience and commitment, you can break free from the patterns that have held you captive and reclaim your life.

Building a Secure Relationship

The therapeutic relationship itself becomes a model for healthy attachment and trust. Many clients find that this relationship is the foundation for all the other changes they make.
