Parent Ego State
This is the part of you that absorbed rules, values, and behaviors from authority figures (parents, teachers, society).
Judgmental, "should" statements, rigid rules

Caring, protective, soothing
"Don't worry, I'll take care of it"
Adult Ego State
This is your rational, present-moment, objective self—processing information logically without emotion.
Neutral, curious, problem-solving
"Let's look at the facts"
"What are the options here?"
Child Ego State
This is the part of you that contains your spontaneous emotions, creativity, and learned childhood responses.
Playful, creative, spontaneous
"This is so fun!"
Compliant or rebellious based on what was rewarded/punished
"I can't do anything right"
